Article Abstract:
Architect James Nagel and contractor Joseph Wangler contracted to build a 10,500-square-foot home in Bannockburn. Nagel also designed a much smaller home for Wangler's personally. The larger home uses a basic steel structure, large glass expanses and windows going into corners. Wangler's swimming pool had to be build before the house was completed to accommodate excavation equipment.

Douglas Garofalo, an architect, gave a contemporary competitive design to Julie and Craig Nothstine's house at Green Bay, Wisconsin built on a 1.3-acre site. The house sports a lively vivid yellow paint and extends 50 feet outward to a long narrow birdwalk and the couple's bedroom is a nest at the highest point of the house with a view of the bay.

Getting it Wright
Article Abstract:
Sylvie and Milton Robinson have spent seventeen years renovating a Prairie school in Illinois which was originally designed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Original colors and materials were used as much as possible to restore the building.
