Backcountry lodges of western Canada
Article Abstract:
Backcountry lodges have been a tradition in western Canada since the turn of the century. These lodges are mostly family-run, with a reputation for hospitality. Four such lodges: Mount Assiniboine, Olson's Tonquin Valley Camps, Purcell and Emerald Lake are discussed.

Great hotels of the national parks
Article Abstract:
Hotels in national parks provide civilized, old-fashioned hospitality in addition to the impressive natural surroundings. The hotels at Yosemite, Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon national parks are evaluated for comfort, amenities and food service.

An enduring tradition
Article Abstract:
The Chautaqua Institution sponsors cultural events such as concerts, symphonies and lectures. The institution was founded as a summer school for Sunday school teachers in 1874 and has retained its Victorian architecture and atmosphere.
