Black River autumn

Two Eskimo women, Minnie Gray and Sarah Ticket, have fished the mouth of the Black River near their home in Amber, AK, for two days each September for the past 50 years, Their fishing routine, attitudes, and catch of pike and whitefish are described.

An Alaska resident describes his effort to build a home on a lot he purchased in remote Ambler, AK. He finds it necessary to fly all of his building materials to Ambler from Anchorage, which is more than 600 miles away.
