Bold living
Article Abstract:
Several new townhouse developments in Chicago exemplify original approaches to urban design. Designers and architects have taken previously desolate industrial areas, and built townhouse communities for upscale young Chicagoans who wish to live near the heart of the city. Not all residents of the area appreciate the new structures, and think that they have a negative impact on the Chicago cityscape.

Diamonds in the rough
Article Abstract:
Chicago is the birthplace of softball, having embraced the sport in the late 1800s. The most popular version of the game in Chicago featured an oversized 16-inch ball and bare-hands play. It was at its height during the Depression, and the fierce competition begat local legends. The Crush, a team formed in 1979, is trying to restore the game's popularity and pass it on to the next generation.
