The Noatak, Copper, Chilikadrotna, Colville and Tatshenshini-Alesk rivers in Alaska provide a way for people to river raft and see the wilderness. Two rivers are in the northern part of the state and three are in the southern part of the state. The rivers have gentle and wild parts.

A cold one

A personal narrative of winter survival is presented. The winter of 1989 was one of the coldest on record in Alaska and life in the bush became a struggle to survive the temperatures of minus 60 degrees and below.
