Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, near the city of Chiang Mai, is northern ThailandEs latest luxury resort. Built over a sixty-acre property, the $80 million resort is creatively designed like a northern Thai village, with a marketplace, ponds, temple, vegetable gardens, palaces and moats, along with farmers, servants, weavers and massage therapists. The brainchild of architect and co-owner Suchet Suwanmongkol, it boasts a 33,000-aquare-foot spa and a library of 5,000 books.
