A personal account of a cycle trip through the timber country of Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. Visitors to the island are advised that the best time to visit is between May and September and that if they plan a cycle trek then they should remember to bring rain clothing, sunscreen, insect repellant and the various bits and pieces they will need to fix their bike if it goes wrong.

Northern latitude: Valdez
Article Abstract:
Valdez is a beautiful landscape, which consists of both life and Alaska oil pipeline terminus. The safety measures that are taken by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., which runs the marine terminal in Valdez to avoid the destruction that might occur to the pipeline, are discussed.

A bicycle tour from the town of Seldovia, Alaska, across the southern Kenai Peninsula to the Gulf of Alaska, is described. The town of Seldovia itself is the oldest in the state.
