Kachemak Bay, Alaska offers visitors an array of colorful aquatic animals particularly seen during the low tide. A variety of marine animals inhabit the tide pools such as starfishes, sea anemones, sponges and corals. Visitors to these tide pools need to protect those interesting organisms.

Alaska offers a wide variety of edible berries that are grown almost everywhere and are harvested during summertime. Included among Alaska's more popular edible berries are blueberry, raspberry, currant (gooseberry), highbush cranberry, salmonberry and crowberry.
