Cerivastatin for hypercholesterolemia
Article Abstract:
Cerivastatin, a newly approved drug for lowering blood cholesterol levels, is less expensive than other statins already available but also seems less effective. It is marketed by Bayer as Baycol in lower dosages than other statins. In controlled testing, cerivastatin reduced LDL cholesterol by about 30%. This compares to the others which, in larger dosage, can decrease LDL cholesterol 35-40% and 50-60%. Effectiveness and safety of higher doses of cerivastatin would need to be approved in order to make a more accurate comparison.

Painting a self-portrait: a look at the composition and style of the bankruptcy bench
Article Abstract:
US Bankruptcy Court judges were surveyed to inquire into their attitudes and approaches to managing bankruptcy cases. Results indicate that bankruptcy judges support a managerial approach, although some use methods of dispute resolution. In spite of a preference for a managerial style, the judges felt fairness should have a higher priority than efficiency.
