Escape to La Suvera

Tourists would relish the scenery at the Relais La Suvera villa estate in Tuscany but their visit would be made even more memorable from the villa's history, singular furnishings and the warmth of the owners. Located 18 miles west of Siena and 35 miles southwest of Florence, La Suvera used to be the home of Pope Julius II in the 16th century.

Venice masquerade: Carnevale plays out on the world's grandest stage
Article Abstract:
The ethereal quality of Venice makes it the perfect setting for the masked festivities known as the Carnevale. The event has ancient roots related to spring fertility rites and became much celebrated in the Middle Ages. It was abolished by Napoleon in 1797 but was fully revived in 1979.

Loving Venice ... without leaving loads and loads of lire
Article Abstract:
Visiting Venice on a budget can be done during the slow tourist season, from November to March and from July to August. Shopping, dining and retiring for rest is best done in places where tourist are not frequent but frequented by the locals.
