The effects of global warming are visible in Alaska, as winter temperatures are not as low as they used to be, and the thickness of ice on glaciers is declining. Evidence that other parts of the world will experience lower temperatures and glaciers will form in other parts, and that such climatic change has happened before, is presented

Alaska is a peninsula with about 33,900 miles of oceanic coastline. Geographers cannot find a unifying description for its shores because they come in different forms. There are capes, sounds, spits, arms, points, deltas, inlets and bays.
