Adam Bucki and his wife Carrie had decided to move from Alaska and they would choose Houston, the one in Texas so that he could take a job as a geologist with an oil company. Adam had lived in Alaska for only five years but he learned a lot into that half decade including the term 'funhog' providing a living definition.

Article Abstract:
Red auroras are a rare sight in the Alaskan sky because of the infrequency with which the conditions needed for it to develop. The red auroras occur high above the earth, and need solar flares, a fast solar wind, many particles and oxygen to manifest. They are visible to almost the equator.

A personal account of the freedom and natural surroundings that are available to those living in Alaska. These are compared to living in New York, where even a canoe trip down a river runs the risk of being contaminated with a variety of noxious chemicals.
