The 2001 Conde Nast Traveler Ecotourism Award was awarded to the Wilderness Safaris tour operator in southern Africa; the Lisu Lodge in Northern Thailand and the Chumbe Island Coral Park on Chumbe Island, near Zanzibar because of their efforts to preserve their local environment.
