Tropical fruits are in abudance in islands like Hawaii and one of their main exports is pineapples which when ripe is at its peak from the drenching sun, making for wonderfully fresh and delightful eating. The fruit's popularity has cause a number of resorts to model themselves after the shape of the pineapple like The Lodge at Koele in Lanai. The history of this delicious tropical fruit is given.
