Kenneth Edmonds, who is known by his nickname Babyface, is a rhythm and blues singer and songwriter with an updated soul sound. His approach to popular music is bringing a suburban sensibility to soul music, in contrast to the harshness of gangsta rap. His songwriting methods are discussed.
