Instant city
Article Abstract:
Guthrie became an instant city during the Great Oklahoma Land Run in 1889 when free land lured a large number of settlers. The area became the capital of Oklahoma territory but was destroyed when the capital moved to Oklahoma City. Restoration in the 1980s brought back tourism.

Haunting hollows
Article Abstract:
The Caverns of Sonora, located in west-central Texas, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites that are still in the formation stage. Mineral rich water continuously drips into the caverns and provides a chance to watch geology in action.
