AST Research's $2,899 AST Advantage! 828 and Packard Bell's $2,599 Platinum Pro 150 Pentium-based systems are both high-performance computers and are ideal for computer gaming. Both systems include a 6X CD-ROM drive, a 2GB hard drive, MPEG software support, a 28.8 Kbps fax modem wit telephone answering system and a choice of a Pentium 150MHz or 166MHz processor configuration with a Level 2 256KB cache. The Platinum Pro receives a more favorable review, as it contains 24MB of RAM and is easier to upgrade. The Advantage 828 includes name-brand components, 16MB of RAM and a three-disc CD-ROM changer. The machines also differ in terms of pre-installed software. The Advantage 828 contains the Lotus SmartSuite but minimal multimedia software. The Platinum Pro includes several multimedia titles, including the Journeyman Project, Microsoft Encarta 96 and the Microsoft Entertainment Pack.

Raw soybeans stimulate human pancreatic proteinase secretion

Article Abstract:

A study was done on the effect of raw soybeans on human pancreatic proteinase secretion. Results show an enhanced secretion of trypsin and chymotrypsin which persisted throughout the duration of soybean instillation. Amylases and proteinases were likewise increased. The increase in proteinase secretion was attributed to nervous regulation which mediates the inhibitor-stimulated proteinase secretion in humans.
