Long takes third black powder title

Ron Long of Denver, CO, won his third National Rifle Association Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette National Championship. He accomplished this at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM, after being denied the championship in 1989 and 1990.

The Colt Cup Rifle Match allows the use of assault rifles that are chambered for the 5.56 mm or .223 Remington cartridge. Competitors are required to shoot ten rounds each for the prone, sitting and standing positions at a 200-yard target.
