Love in a cool climate
Article Abstract:
Santa Barbara is the best example for the Pacific's crucial role in shaping fine wine because despite its Southern California location, it boasts some of the state's finest cool-climate vineyards. The wine country, which begins about 30 miles northwest of the city of Santa Barbara, around Santa Ynez and Los Olivos, and continues west and north to Lompoe and Santa Maria, is a land of pinot noir and chardonnay sauvignon and merlot.
