The drug Lariam has been widely used as the strongest medication available to prevent malaria, though it has been known to cause strange side effects, including hallucinations. The Center for Disease Control still recommends the drug, though perhaps one should try it first before travelling.

Dengue fever: know the facts

A recent outbreak of dengue fever killed eight natives in Puerto Rico and had tourists on the island very concerned. Still it is a very rare illness and the only way to contract it is to spend an inordinate amount of time in hot, enclosed spaces.
