Managing altitude sickness

Acute mountain sickness (AMS), also known as altitude sickness can occur at elevations above 7,000, but is usually lessened if ascent is gradual. Symptoms include headache, nausea, breathlessness and loss of appetite. If confusion or drowsiness occurs, descent is advisable.
