The legislation (S.1805) Second Amendment can be read as protection of lawful commerce in Arms Act, which was supported, by 55 U.S Senate co-sponsors, Republican and Democratic Senate and it also had the backing of President Bush and other union groups. As gun-ban activists in Congress slipped through anti-gun amendments, NRA officially withdrew its support for final passage.

The NRA Institute for Legislative Action is fighting across the nation to protect America's hunting lands such as Maryland, Georgia and others since it is losing its hunting lands at an alarming rate. The NRA Institute for Legislative Action is planning to implement No-Net-Loss legislation benefiting 50 states that would have sufficient acres for their hunting activities.

The U.S. Senate prepares to debate the S. 397, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which is a culmination of four full federal election cycles, including two U.S. presidential contests. The lawsuits will have a common theme that the firearm industry was somehow responsible for the unforeseeable acts of criminals who misused their products.
