Nancy Dorn, a Texas native came to Washington without a job and with her efforts reached a position of press assistant to a Republican congressman to special assistant for legislative affairs and the first woman and youngest person to serve as an assistant secretary of the Army. She was appointed as an assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney for legislative affairs and then deputy Office of Management and Budget director and works in Washington office of General Electrics.
