Not all 03s are Springfield's: The Rock Island Arsenal M1903
Article Abstract:
The Rock Island Arsenal was established in 1862 on the site of a former military fort and they fabricated a number of ordnance-related items, such as leather goods but no small arms were produced and Springfield was given a production quota of 400 M 1903 rifles per day, and Rock Island's daily quota was 125. In 1905, problem with the rod bayonet and the original M 1903sights resulted in the '03 rifle being redesigned to utilize a conventional knife bayonet and improved sights.

"Non-Colt" U.S. M1911s
Article Abstract:
The U.S. M1911s service pistol, in use by the American military since 1912, is now synonymous with original manafacturer Colt. However, both Springfield and Remington also made the pistol in 1912-1919.
