Alaska guides are resilient. After a pilot deliberately frightened the Dall rams a guide and a hunter had been tracking, the guide found a way to intercept the rams by climbing over the top of a mountain. The strategy was sucessful, but frightening and exhausting.

Mountain goats live in difficult, rocky territory and are hard to hunt because they scare easily and will not allow hunters to get within 300 yards. Large weapons such as a .270 rifle must be used.

A personal account of hunting bison in Farewell Burn, Alaska. There are currently over 900 bison in Alaska, with 225 hunting permits issued every year though a drawing process.
