John Blower was a simple man who, when he died, had no family able to attend to his affairs. His Eskimo neighbors volunteered funeral expenses to help bury the man who had served as both mayor and councilman. Friends made the coffin and Eskimos paid him the highest tribute by calling him 'one of us.'
