Article Abstract:

South Asia has recovered from the December 2004 tsunami destruction but after the deadly calamity the question of when the tourists would return still ponders. Across South Asia, many resort areas were largely unaffected and the officials were open for business but there was a drop in visitor numbers.

The extreme climatic changes since 1970 are described which are threatening as the temperature is rising steadily. The three hottest years fall between 1998 and 2003 and the Grinell glacier in Montana's Glacier national park, has shrunk 63 percent since the middle of the nineteenth century.
