A series of former castles and palaces comprise the government-run 'pousadas,' or inns, of Portugal. The sights and pousadas of Lisbon, Obidos, Terres Novas, Abrantes, Marvao, Estremoz, Borba, Vila Vicosa, Monsaraz, Evora, Arriaolos, and Setubal are described.

A midsummer cruise on the Gota Canal
Article Abstract:
The Gota Canal runs from Stockholm to Gothenburg in Sweden. The man-made canal was completed in 1832, and cruises take four days from start to finish. A personal narrative about the trip is offered.
