Remington's model 700, bolt-action rifle that is the basis for the standard-issue of the M24 of the U.S. Army sniping rifle, introduced in 1962 and beloved of millions of shooters is described. Modified according to the changing nature of modern war, it is the ultimate example of a commercial, sporting rifle.
