A growing number of college-educated professionals are signing up with community colleges to prepare for new careers or pursue longtime interests. Anecdotal evidence and research suggest that many of these students are older workers looking for a new edge in job market and they hope to parlay the training into a better salary, job security, or a new career.

Venetian glass renaissance
Article Abstract:
Designer-businessman Paolo Venini revived the art of Venetian glassmaking in 1921 when he set up his Murano company to produce new glass forms. The modern form which evolved is surreal, sculptural, and is fluid in shape. Many of these pieces are on the market, but are quite expensive.
