A restaurant critic recalls his first encounter with salads during his childhood days in Argentina. His family would stage great outdoor barbecues at the cattle ranches on the grasslands of the province of Entre Rios. The salad often served is a combination of tomatoes and onions dressed with olive oil and vinegar.

Virginia upsets California
Article Abstract:
A wine-tasting survey indicates that Virginia's affordable Chardonnay wine is slowly gaining an edge over its California counterparts. However, the tasting panel agreed that affordable Chardonnays from both Virginia and California are not completely satisfying especially when compared to expensive Chardonnays.
