Silence of the caves; the lowdown on Alaska's secret underworld

Most of Alaska's caves remain unexplored, and their mysteries lie buried under the state's 586,000 sq mi. The most unusual caves are made of limestone carved by dripping rainwater. However, there are also sea caves, glacier caves and lava-tube caves to explore.
