Article Abstract:
There has been increasing interest in the subject of consciousness and machines can help us understand this issue. Various non-invasive procedures can give informations on consciousness such as EEGs. The way the brain works can be likened to a jigsaw puzzle with consciouness providing a missing element. Simulation can be developed using machines and such machines could one day develop consciouness. This could give rise to legal questions which may need to be addressed in the 21st century.

A dilapidated 1860 house that found its way from Brenham to Chappell Hill, TX, caught the fancy of Steve and Eileen Evans. Using their hands, brains and money, the couple was able to transform the vandalized dwelling into a two-bedroom, two-bath home with a shop.
