More guns, less violent crime
Article Abstract:
A study of US crime statistics from 1977 to 1992 shows that allowing gun ownership reduces crime rates. This is particularly true for one type of gun-control law, the so-called 'shall-issue' laws, that allow mentally sound persons to carry concealed weapons if they do not have criminal records.
