"The end of the world": The Denali fault earthquake was a global event that shook the interior to its core

The magnitude 7.9 Denali earthquake, which struck on November 3, 2002, ruptured the surface along the Denali Fault System for 209 miles. The quake triggered many landslides, mostly in the Alaska Range, when mountainsides gave way burying valleys and glaciers in rock and ice up to 15 feet thick.
