The laptop myth: airlines say your gadgets interfere with theirs. Where's the proof?

Airlines disallow their passengers to use personal electronic devices below 10,000 ft. because these may interfere with airline systems. The banned devices include laptops, Walkmans, portable CD players, camcorders and Game Boys. However, the scientific basis of this prohibition remains unclear.
