The low-down on low-fare airlines: a great deal, if only they survive
Article Abstract:
Low-fare airlines offer services from large and small airports, thus increasing pressure for the large airlines to meet their fares. The market is fierce, and charges of unfair competitive practices can arise as large airlines often outbid smaller carriers for bankrupt airlines. The services provided by 14 low-fare airlines are described.

Low-fare UK start-ups test 'open' European skies
Article Abstract:
EasyJet and Debonair are two new start-up airlines in the UK that offer low fares for travel within Europe. EasyJet sells its lowest-cost seats first, and the price rises with the number of tickets sold. It services six cities. Debonair sells its tickets the same way as EasyJet.
