Three accidents have occurred involving Airbus Industrie's A320 commercial aircraft. The fully-computerized craft's safety record is causing concern over the highly sophisticated equipment. No US or Canadian A320s have been involved in fatal accidents.

Atlantic jets lose two engines; pilots question safety over oceans

Many pilots have expressed concern over the safety of twin engine jets which have become the primary workhorses for trans-Atlantic flights. They believe that aircraft with more than two engines provide a higher margin of safety than twin engine jets.
