Tourism can bring about both positive and negative repercussions. Positive benefits include sustained economic expansion and new levels of cultural interaction. The negative consequences of tourism, however, include the disruption of local communities and the corruption of traditional values.

Issues are presented concerning the efforts being made to save the Pantanal region of Brazil. This area of wetlands is half as big as Texas and is very important to wildlife. It is hoped that ecotourism will save the area.
