When it hurts to fly

Most people who travel by plane with colds, experience considerable pain in their ears. The reason for this, is because of the mucus that blocks the air that has to pass through the eustachian tube. Experts suggest exercises like pinching the nostrils shut and taking a deep breath during descent.

Hepatitis A: the unwanted souvenir

Article Abstract:

Liver-infecting hepatitis A virus (HAV) is a typical cause of disease which surfaces among travelers after their vacation. HAV comes from contaminated water and symptoms of infection include nausea, fever and fatigue. It may be avoided by taking vaccines and ensuring cleanliness of food.
