Malamutes are viewed as the quintessential Alaskan dog. They are big, strong and semi-wild but are also beautiful in a strange sort of way. Malamutes are loyal but have a violent disposition, often eating smaller animals and continuously fighting among their kind.

Bad bear days

There have several documented attacks by brown bears on humans in Alaska. To avoid being attack by these ferocious animals, people should exhibit common sense and have a competent partner and a weapon in hand when visiting areas known to be frequented by bears.
