The Expedition, a sport-utility vehicle from Ford, has a base price of $28,000, with options bringing it as high as $40,000. However, the Expedition performed admirably in a trip from Anchorage to Seward, Alaska. The Expedition is powered by a V-8 engine and can accomodate nine passengers.

Much of Montana's beautiful Glacier National Park is inaccessible with a normal automobile but it can be reached in a sport utility vehicle. A drive through the park in a Kia Sportage, which performed better off-road than it did on the highway, is described.
