The cookbook "First Catch Your Moose" gives a history of Fairbanks in addition to turn-of-the-century recipes. The reprinted 1909 cookbook was compiled by the Ladies of the Presbyterian Church in Fairbanks. Recipes include Oyster Loaf, Collups, Roast Wild Duck, and Burnt Leather Cake.
