Zagoskin's Russian America
Article Abstract:
Lavrentiy Alekseyevich Zagoskin undertook a charting mission into the interior of Russian America, now known as Alaska, in December 1842. His scientific and ethnographic studies of the region earned him recognition from the Russian Geographic Society and the Academy of Sciences.
