A role for the immunological synapse in lineage commitment of CD4 lymphocytes
Article Abstract:
Rapid co-polarization of interferon-gamma (IFNGR) with the T-cell receptor (TCR) that occurs within the developing immunological synapse on engagement of the TCR on T-helper lymphocyte (Thp) cells is reported. It is observed that the Thp cells from the intrinsically Th1-like C57BL/6 mouse strain have significantly more receptor co-polarization than Th2-prone BALB/c Thp cells.

The inhibitory cytokine IL-35 contributes to regulatory T-cell function
Article Abstract:
The discovery of new member of heterodimeric inhibitory cytokine, interleukin-35 (IL-35) produced by regulatory T ([T.sub.reg]) cells is reported. The IL-35 is similar to IL-12 and plays significant role in suppression of T-cell proliferation.

Insulin trigger for diabetes
Article Abstract:
Insulin is an auto-antigen by itself that initiates the immune response leading to diabetes. Insulin-reactive lymphocytes from diabetics appear to have a destructive nature, releasing molecules that are harmful to the beta cells.
