Adhesion articulated
Article Abstract:
The vertical extension that enables molecules to rise to the task of mediating cell adhesion is explained by a new structure of the head region of an integrin protein. The intramolecular signal transduction for one particular integrin termed alpha(sub IIb)beta3, which is found on platelets and binds to the blood protein fibrinogen helps to know the core mechanism that controls cellular adhesiveness.

Direct observation of catch bonds involving cell-adhesion molecules
Article Abstract:
Atomic force microscopy and flow-chamber experiments are used to show that increasing force first prolonged and then shortened the lifetimes of P-selection complexes with P-selection glycoprotein ligand-1 to reveal both catch and slip bond behavior.
