Adopting adoption
Article Abstract:
Learning the parenting behavior of adopting parents by the adoptive offspring may be another route for adoption behavior in birds and mammals to persist even in the absence of fitness advantages. Social learning of adopted animals including parenting style is facilitated by the adopting parents. Adoption may also provide the opportunity for parents to provide their offspring with a potential mate despite the genetic differences.

The evolution of female sexuality
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the influence of male assistance on the evolutionary development of female sexuality in monogamous species. A model is used to compare this theory with one based on the genetic quality of males.

Role of begging and sibling competition in foraging strategies of nestlings
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the the allocation of food by parent birds to their nestlings. The signalling and nonsignalling behavior of the nestlings and its influence on parental feeding strategy is discussed.
