DNA tests put death penalty under fire
Article Abstract:
The modern DNA tests have successfully exonerated three Virginia prisoners between 2002 and 2004, when tests were done on old biological samples, saved by a methodical employee in the era before such techniques were available. Mark Warner, state of Virginia's governor stated that retesting DNA samples is the only morally acceptable course, as the US public divided over the death penalty.

Ethics review slams government panels over conflicts of interest
Article Abstract:
Two-thirds of scientist, engineers, lawyers and other specialists in the US do not fill out any financial conflict-of-interest paperwork. A US government ethics office is demanding that agencies comply more fully with rules requiring experts on advisory panels to declare potential conflicts of interest.
