Albanerpetontid amphibians from the Cretaceous of Spain
Article Abstract:
The complete fossil remains of an Albanerpetontid specimen is recovered from the early Cretaceous period in Spain. Albanerpetontids are strange salamander-like amphibians which lived during the Jurassic to Miocene periods from Central Asia to Euramerica. The discovered fossil includes traces of skin and male courtship glands. The discovery of the complete fossil reveals that these animals were primarily terrestrial in habitat. These animals probably belong to the lissamphibian lineage.

Amplification and sequencing of DNA from a 120-135-million-year-old weevil
Article Abstract:
The extraction, amplification and sequencing of DNA from a 120-135 million year old weevil is described. To determine the origins of the sample, preliminary phylogenetic analysis of the sequences was conducted and compared with that of three extant coelepterans and two extant dipterans. Results indicate that the rDNA fragments come from the DNA of an extinct nemonychid weevil.
