Biodiversity regulates ecosystem predictability
Article Abstract:
Biodiversity in aquatic microbial communities was manipulated to show that ecosystem respiration increases in predictability as biodiversity increases. Biodiversity was also found to improve predictability in terrestrial ecosystems, and affect levels of ecosystem performance. Strong effects continue even after ecosystems develop.

Environmental warming alters food-web structure and ecosystem function
Article Abstract:
Microcosm experiments show that extinction risk in warming environments depends on trophic position, but is not affected by biodiversity. Warmed communities lose top predators and herbivores, becoming dominated by autotrophs and bacterivores. Diverse communities will retain more species than depauperate ones.

Diversity in the deep blue sea
Article Abstract:
The diversity and abundance of plankton, supporting food webs in the oceans, in different marine environments around the world is observed and similarities with other ecosystems were noted. The unimodal pattern appears repeatedly for a variety of organisms in different circumstances.
